Germany, Federal Republic. A Knight’s Cross Of The Iron Cross 1939, With Case, 1957 Version United Republic of blackened lettering(Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes). Reinstituted 1 September 1939. (1939 1945 issue; post 1957 reissue). Constructed of silver and brass, consisting of a cross patte with a ribbed silver frame and a blackened brass core, the obverse with three central raised oak leaves, the six oclock arm with a raised reinstitution date of 1939, the reverse with an initial institution date of 1813 on the six oclock arm, the twelve oclock arm with an integral loop
